It provides a comprehensive guide to implementing best practices in the cellar, behind the bar and ensuring that premises are in pristine condition. Delivered in seven bitesize sections the programme has been designed to provide learners with the freedom to explore the content in a way most suited to them. With practical video demonstrations of cellar and bar related tasks, this learning activity is an encyclopaedia of cellar to glass practices.
     

New E-learning platform for hospitality workers launched

Hospitality trade body UKHospitality and learning and development provider CPL Learning have launched an online training platform for hospitality team members.UKH Pathway is free to use while hospitality businesses remain closed due to the COVID-19 crisis, and provides access to learning, wellbeing and personal development resources for furloughed employees.

Britain sees the opportunity for more delivered food and drink

With Britain in lock-down, hot food delivery services from restaurants and takeaways are set to have an increasingly important role in keeping the nation fed. The public’s appetite for delivered food has been growing. In the week prior to yesterday’s Prime Ministerial order for the public to say at home, research from CGA showed that just over half (53%) of the public are either currently using, or planning to use, delivery as an alternative during the current crisis, with 13% getting delivery from a restaurant or takeaway either for the first time, or more often than usual, in the last two weeks.

Aimed predominantly at outlet management, it covers what coronavirus is and how the infection spreads, areas to consider and plan for, operational tips, training guides and the most up-to-date hygiene advice for food and drink establishments. There will also be a range of support materials to be used in venues to support the course.
