Street food collective Kerb reopened its site on West India Quay in London this week. It is selling at lunchtimes from Wednesday and Friday at the moment, hosting street food traders including The Grilling Greek, STAKEhaus, Bian Dang, Baba Dhaba, Jollof Mama, Piddaji, Oshpaz and Da Fish Ting. Kerb has recently been operating at Seven Dials and the South Bank, though its other sites are not yet trading again.

North east restaurant group Tomahawk Steakhouse says it has more new openings lined up in London and Middlesbrough. It is taking over the former Fifteen restaurant unit in Hoxton, and is moving into a Grade I listed building in Middlesbrough. The group has recently opened in Beverley and York, and says it is also exploring potential sites in Harrogate and Manchester. Tomahawk currently operates nine restaurants and two takeaways.

Indian street food style operator Mowgli plans to open its delayed Bristol Corn Exchange restaurant before the end of the year. It has recently launched a new site in Leeds, and has ambitions to open in Cheltenham, Glasgow, Brighton and Cheshire.

Prezzo has lined up 23 restaurant reopenings between 16 and 24 September. Towns where it is relaunching next week include Aldeburgh, Epping, Leicester, Maidstone, Norwich, Oxford, Rugby, Weston Super Mare and Witham.

The D&D London group is opening a new European-style restaurant and events venue called Klosterhaus at the Quakers Friars building in Bristol’s Cabot Circus on 2 October. D&D has recently completed the reopening of all its current venues.

A major Japanese and Nordic restaurant and retail arcadia-style development called Pantechnicon is opening on Motcomb Street in London’s Belgravia on Tuesday (22 September). Reports suggest it will be the biggest new retail venture to launch in London since lockdown. It will have several restaurant, bar, lounge and café choices.

PizzaExpress has reopened its restaurant in London’s Bankside. It follows the group’s other recent reopenings in incorporating a new cocktail and espresso bar.

Fuller’s has just reopened The Trinity pub in Borough after a major refurbishment.

The Filipino Jollibee group has just opened a second UK restaurant on Whitechapel in Liverpool. The first UK location for the fried chicken restaurant brand is in Earls Court in London.

Street food burger operator Truffle has launched a first permanent restaurant on Bateman Street in Soho. Truffle previously operated on the South Bank and Seven Dials in London. It has taken on the Bateman Street unit previously operated by Bonnie Gull.

A new pizza, craft beer and cocktail concept called Nebula opened last weekend on Hackney Road in London.

Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian fusion concept Sushisamba has signed a contract to open a restaurant in Edinburgh, as part of the W hotel development. It is due to open in 2022. Sushisamba has two UK restaurants, in Covent Garden and Heron Tower in London, plus two more in Amsterdam and Las Vegas.

Chinese restaurant operator Murgen Han opened this week on Philpot Lane in the City. It is a third site for Murgen Han, after previous openings in Euston and Mayfair.

East of England pizza restaurant group Dough & Co is opening two more sites in Halstead and Bury St Edmunds. The group currently has three restaurants, in Sudbury, Colchester and Bishop’s Stortford.

JD Wetherspoon says it will soon start work on two new developments in Yorkshire, in Northallerton and Headingley. Both pubs are scheduled to open in the spring.

The Cha Cha group is partnering with the Sister Jane clothing brand to create a new Latin-style restaurant and bar at a store on Golborne Road in Notting Hill called Sister Jane Townhouse.

The team behind the Noble Rot restaurant and wine bar in Bloomsbury is opening a second site in a unit on Greek Street in Soho that has been occupied for 60 years by the Gay Hussar.
