Arc Inspirations has set 30 March for the opening of its latest new Banyan Bar & Kitchen in Newcastle. The 5,000 square feet operation is a refurbishment of a Jamie’s Italian restaurant on Monument Mall. It is Arc’s ninth Banyan Bar & Kitchen and 19th venue in all. Chief executive Martin Wolstencroft said: “We’re delighted to have branched out into a new city… our strategy is to continue investing in our core brands Manahatta, Banyan Bar & Kitchen and The Box, building on our cluster approach, opening bars in close proximity with confidence they will trade harmoniously.”

The Market Halls group of food halls is opening a new venue at Intu Lakeside in Essex in the spring. It will bring together street food operators and bars over 14,500 square feet of space called The Hall. Co-founder Andy Lewis-Pratt said: “This is an exciting avenue for Market Halls. The Hall will provide a new and vibrant social dining option for the 20 million visitors to Intu Lakeside every year. Market Halls’ first two locations are in Fulham and Victoria.

Marston’s is opening a new pub in its Revere Pub Company division—the Lazy Pig in the Pantry in Chesham in Buckinghamshire. The 4,100 square feet site is the result of a £500,000 refurb and will open next month, becoming Revere’s 16th location.

Nando’s opened a new restaurant in the Beacon development in Eastbourne this week. Other new restaurant openings at the centre will follow.

KFC has just opened a new restaurant at the Kingfisher Shopping Centre in Redditch.

Mitchells & Butlers’ steakhouse restaurant brand Miller & Carter has signed for an opening in Horsham in Sussex, according to local media. It will be part of the Pires Place development, which is due to launch in late April.

The team behind the Roti Chai and Chai Ki restaurants in London are opening Bambusa, a new all-day pan-Asian operation on Charlotte Street. It will open from breakfast through to dinner and is due to launch by the end of March.

Bristol’s Vietnamese restaurant Big Bao is to open a second site in the city called Sen Café on Baldwin Street in the next few weeks. The original Big Bao is on Broadmead.

Wine, cocktail and charcuterie bar group Champagne & Fromage is opening on Victoria Street in Liverpool in March. The brand already has a site at the Grand Central Food Bazaar in the city, as well as four in London and one in Bath. Three more concepts are due to follow Champagne & Fromage with openings on Victoria Street, after a refurbishment of an old restaurant building there.

The Livelyhood pub group has opened its sixth site: the Perky Nel by Clapham Common. It follows a refurbishment of the Gigalum bar. Livelyhood has another pub in Clapham and four more in south London.

Five Guys plans to open a new restaurant in Bromley, local media report. It will take on an old retail unit there.

Walton-on-Thames Argentinean steakhouse restaurant Buenasado has submitted plans to open a second site at the Oracle shopping centre in Reading. It would replace a unit there that was vacated by CAU. BuenAsado’s parent group also operates four Buenos Aires Argentine Steakhouse restaurants in Chiswick, Horsham, Reigate and Wimbledon.

Fulham Shore’s The Real Greek is opening a new wine bar underneath its beachside restaurant in Bournemouth.

Mitchells & Butlers has reopened the Brampton Mill near Huntingdon, part of its Premium Country Pubs division, after a major refurbishment.

Healthy cold-pressed juice brand CPress has opened a fifth site in London, on Berners Street in Fitzrovia.

A drive-through Taco Bell is opening at the Waterfront Retail Park in Greenock.
