What does the election result mean for the eating and drinking out market?

How will the shock election result affect the UK’s out-of-home food and drink market – not to mention the economy, consumer confidence and investment? Join the first industry-wide debate on the fall-out at CGA’s Future of Finance seminar on Tuesday, June 20, at 30 Euston Square, London.

The invitation-only event is free to operators – so to apply for a place email Nil Khalifa, nil.khalifa@cgastrategy.co.uk today.

Come and join the audience of CFOs, CEOs, non-executive directors, investors and entrepreneurs of all types from right across the restaurant, pub, bar, café and takeaway sector

One of the sector’s most experienced executives Robin Rowland OBE, boss of YO! Sushi and non-executive director at Marston’s and Caffe Nero will set the agenda for the day with CGA’s own Peter Martin, discussing the ramifications for business and how operators should react to political and economic uncertainty.

Said seminar chair Peter Martin: “The falling pound post-Brexit vote has already piled new cost pressures on operators, and they are only likely to increase with the prospect of a hung parliament – and what will the ensuing uncertainty due to both consumer and investor confidence? Will the public continue to go out to eat and drink – and where will they choose. We are entering a whole new world – how are we going to navigate it?”

Also providing expert market insight will be Jamie Oliver Group’s CFO Tara O’Neill, non-exec director at Genuine Dining Co, Feng Sushi and Brighton Pier Paul Viner, Leon’s managing director John Upton and sector investor Darrel Connell of Imbiba Partners – the last two both having recently completed important sector deals.

Speakers will address how businesses are going to find growth opportunities in an even more competitive market, where costs are rising and confidence is under extra pressure.

Other industry experts on the roster include leading property expert Trevor Watson of Davis Coffer Lyons, Paul Newman of international advisory firm RSM and top market analyst Douglas Jack of Peel Hunt.

The CGA team will also be on hand to provide extra insight and context – revealing the detailed results of our latest quarterly confidence survey among senior executives in restaurant, bar, and pub market.

The agenda will look at how data can help inform decision-making, specifically speakers will be addressing:

  • Valuing local markets for investment
  • Cost pressures and the price challenge
  • Where are the winners in the new market landscape?

These and many more questions will all be addressed at the Future of Finance Seminar 2017, to be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 30 Euston Square, London.

The invitation-only event is free to operators – to apply for a place please email hello@cgapeach.co.uk
