SSP has opened a new bar and restaurant concept on the airside at Birmingham Airport called Factory Bar & Kitchen. It serves British classics and Birmingham dishes.

Loungers has announced an opening at the Green Lanes shopping centre in Barnstaple. It should open there in the spring.

All you can eat buffet operator Cosmo has opened on Deansgate in Manchester. It has taken on a 350-cover, three-floor space previously run by Red Hot World Buffet.

Brasserie Blanc’s sister group White Brasserie Bar Co has opened the Black Horse pub in Thame. It is also lining up the launch of the Boot Inn in Histon near Cambridge following a redevelopment.

Jamaican casual dining concept Rudie’s will open its second site at Boxpark Shoreditch on 15 January. It comes two years after the brand’s debut in Dalston. The new site will include an on the go offer for lunch, plus an open kitchen with 30-cover counter dining. It will also offer office deliveries.

Japanese ramen concept Kanada-Ya has secured a third site on Upper Street in Islington. It should launch in March, joining the first two Kanada-Tu restaurants on St Giles High Street in Covent Garden and Panton Street in Soho.

Café, bakery and patisserie operator Paul has opened at the Westgate shopping centre in Oxford. It is its second branch in Oxford, its third outside London and its 37th site in all.

Miller & Carter opened its latest new restaurant in St Alban’s on Wednesday (20 December). It follows the conversion of an O’Neill’s bar.

Marston’s is to open a new-build pub called the Station Pilot in Shavington near Crewe in February. It will have space for 150 covers.

Cardiff brewery Crafty Devil Brewing Company is to open its first pub, called Beelzebub on the High Street in the city. It is scheduled to launch in March. The company is currently crowdfunding to support the launch.

TGI Friday’s has applied for licensing permission to open at the Rushden Lakes retail and leisure complex in Northamptonshire. It would join a wave of brands planning to launch in the second phase of development work there.

A Peaky Blinders bar, modelled on 1920s pubs of the sort featured in the popular BBC TV series, has opened in the former Cains Brewery in the Baltic Triangle. It is from the team behind the Peaky Blinders bar in Southport.

A new all-day restaurant concept called the Stockwell Continental will open in Stockwell early in the new year. It has been developed by the team behind the Anchor & Hope in Waterloo and the Canton Arms in Lambeth.

Canadian coffeeshop concept Tim Hortons opens its fifth Scottish site under franchise in Dunfermline on Thursday (21 December) as it continues a push into the UK.

Café and patisserie concept Patisserie Valerie has secured a unit at the Cwmbran Centre in south Wales. It has taken a 1,530 square feet unit there.

Wagamama opened in Muscat in Oman this week—its 12th restaurant in the Middle East.
