Gusto says it will open more restaurants in the south of England, after recently launching its first, in Chislehurst. Managing director Sue Crimes said: “2017 has been incredibly exciting for Gusto and we are thrilled to be moving into new areas. We see real opportunity to grow our brand in London and the south east and are aiming to open three more Gusto restaurants in the region in the next 18 months.” The Chislehurst restaurant is Gusto’s 18th in all.

Mexican street food concept Breddos Tacos has opened a second site on Kingly Street in Carnaby. It joins the original Breddos Tacos in Clerkenwell, which opened last year after several years as a mobile operation. The new venue has a downstairs bar as well as a restaurant.

Turtle Bay opens its latest new restaurant on St Andrews Cross in Plymouth this weekend. It becomes the 40th location for the brand. Turtle Bay has also applied for permission to open in Canterbury, local media report.

Carluccio’s is running an all-vegan pop-up called Cucina Verde in Covent Garden for the next four Mondays. It is acting as a showcase for Carluccio’s extensions to its vegetarian and vegan menus. Chief executive Neil Wickers said: “Our new menu firmly puts the spotlight on vegetables and the Cucina Verde has been created to further highlight the variety of delicious meat-free dishes we now have on offer across our restaurants every day.”

Renowned chef Henry Harris and Holborn Leisure founder James McCulloch are teaming up to relaunch three London pubs. The Three Cranes on Lower Thames Street will reopen in November, with the Coach & Horses in Clerkenwell and the Truscott Arms in Maida Vale to follow in early 2018. The last will reopen with a different name. Holborn Leisure already operates the Harcourt in Marylebone, and says it will announce more acquisitions soon.

New World Trading Company has opened a new branch of its bar and restaurant brand The Botanist in West Bridgford in Nottingham. It is the 16th site for the brand.

All you can eat Brazilian restaurant Casa Brasil is opening at Cabot Circus in Bristol in November. It joins three other Casa Brasil venues in Brighton, Portsmouth and Southampton.

Mexican concept Benito’s Hat is the latest brand to announce an opening at the Westgate shopping centre in Oxford. It will open there on 24 October.

Noodle bar Chopstix reached 75 stores with an opening at the Emo Express garage forecourt near Belfast International Airport this week.

Brewery Camerons will open a Head of Steam pub in Didsbury early in 2018. It will be the 12th venue for the brand, which specialises in craft beers.

YO! Sushi has reopened its restaurant at the Meadowhall centre in Sheffield after a major refurbishment. It has 70 covers and offers takeaway as well as eat-in.

JD Wetherspoon is opening in Rainham in Kent. It has taken over the Railway pub in the town and is now canvassing local opinion about a new name for it.

Fuller’s has acquired the Manor pub in Christchurch.

Coffee brand Nespresso has launched a new concept store at the Liverpool ONE development. The 1,600 square feet unit will run masterclasses, tastings and demonstrations alongside a retail operation.

Whitbread’s Beefeater brand has just opened a restaurant on Kingswood Park in Hull. It follows a conversion of a Table Table site.

Taco Bell has secured permission for an opening on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow. It should launch before the end of the year, according to local media.

Oakman Inns is to refurbish and expand its Akeman pub in Tring, its first ever site. It will relaunch on 11 November. 

A new Moroccan-themed bar called Bedouin is opening at the old Cains Brewery in the Baltic Triangle in Liverpool.
